Problem with initial payment - Paypal Debit Card

carlwaringcarlwaring Posts: 11FreedomPop Newbie
I have recently discovered that my Paypal Debit Card can't be used for recurring monthly payments. That's fine, though, as I am only really interested in the FREE package anyway.

So, after I remove all "paid for" items, I can clearly see an amount of "£0.00 every month" on the payment page.

So I click "Activate" and, after a few seconds, I get the "payment cannot be authorised" screen and, when I look again, a charge of £1.99 has appeared from nowhere and with premium item selected.

Yes, I could just use another card and may well do so, but I just wondered what was going on and if there was maybe a bug somewhere that someone needed to know about!

Thanks.

Is it really so hard to copy and paste a url...

Even if its added something you can just cancel it inside your account if its something you dont want.
You havent clicked agree to terms and conditions thats why its not going through.

Honestly, I don't think my paypal card has ever worked as it's supposed to. It's utterly useless.

It won't go through with anything to pay monthly. Did you not read my post?

Yes I did. That became un-ticked when it failed to accept the payment.

Mine has and I've used it a lot. I only won't work here because you can't do repeated monthly billing with it.

Recurring debit card payments are a pain (especially to cancel them) so that's a blessing in disguise ;)

Yes, exactly my experience when trying to pay by AmEx.

The only way I found to completely remove the charge was to start the transaction from the beginning, then make sure all add-ons were removed from the shopping list.

Simply refreshing the payment page didn't work.
