messaging doesn't work, wiping data question

S3, from groupon . App version 16.02.254.0604. Shows username phone, email. But can't send any texts. This is the third big problem and one minor as well.
Summary
1. Wifi switch won't turn on, just turns itself off, never can see any wiFi list to connect .
2. Get a message with every boot says tap to install supersu
3. Can't send any texts, even sync account doesn't change texts left, as they never leave.
4. Prior users data still on phone, videos, photos, and MP3 (not a big Eminem fan, thanks)

I got five more days to fix and then it has to go back to groupon
Also it would be nice to see a post on how to wipe the phone before sending back, so they don't get my data like I got their data...

    Hello @michael hixson sorry to hear about the issues you are currently experiencing, it sounds like you may need a MSL reset, please follow the steps below:

    Please dial ##786#
    Select the Reset button
    Then enter your MSL code: 663546

    Hit the Reset button and your phone will restart.

    Once the phone has restarted it may enter hands free activation. If this does not happen, then you can do so by updating your phone's PRL and Profile manually.

    This can be done by going to Settings
    System updates
    Update PRL and then repeat for Update Profile.

    Note: this will wipe your phones information and reset it back to its Factory Default Settings
