Warning: Don't update to Cyanogenmod nightly build 20150625

avatarxavatarx Posts: 14FreedomPop Newbie
I had 20150623 build and everything was working fine. The 20150625 change log had "Sprint 3G Fix" and when I updated to that build, 3G didn't work anymore.

Restoring to 20150623 backup didn't fix the problem and I'm still having 3G connection problem.

LTE works fine but 3G just shows "!" next to the signal meter.

How can I fix this?

The typical way to fix 3G is Update Profile and Update PRL.
If that does not work then try Carrier Reset:
    http://support.freedompop.com/FreedomPhone/56687775/Carrier-Reset.htm
For MSL, if your phone is a Sprint-branded BYOD phone, you can check here:
    http://www.freedompop.com/acct_device.htm
MSL should be listed under MAC ID.

(Note1: Back up your data as this can potentially erase your phone)
(Note2: Make sure your phone is fully charged and plugged in before starting)
(Note3: If you lost any data then please re install the My FreedomPop app and the FreedomPop Messaging app.)

    Please report back your results.

I went back to 20150606 build and deleted APN list using APN backup & restore app. That made 3G working but now LTE wasn't working. I applied the Freedompop APN fix zip and now both are working fine.

Could you please tell us what freedompop apn fix file you used??

    thanks!

    I used Freedompop APNs fix.zip at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2798619

First, I restored Cyanogenmod 12.1 20150606 nightly build. Data connections still didn't work.

I deleted APN list using APN backup and restore app (install the app, make it a system app using lucky patcher, run the APN backup app and turn off ICS check in the options). Deleting the APN list made 3G working again but not 4G LTE.

After this, I went to the recovery mode and installed the Freedompop APNs fix.zip and rebooted. Both 3G and 4G LTE were working.

    Hope this helps!
