Defective device

Well, my MiFi 500 has given up the ghost. I bought it about 6 months ago off Groupon and the other day while using it, it spontaneously turned off and has not been able to charge or turn back on since. I'm guessing it's dead. Is there a way to deactivate the device from my account without having to pay $20?

Or, if FreedomPop wants to give me another one, that is a good solution as well. :-)

    I have a same problem. When I turned on MiFi 500, it showed MiFi logo for a while and shut down by itself.
