got the phone, but the phone thinks it has a different number!

Got the phone today from FP, after some significant delay... it'll make outgoing calls with the number assigned in my FP account, but calling that number doesn't ring the phone, which "thinks" it has an entirely different area code and number.

Wonder how that can be fixed...?

    If the area code starts with 533, 566, or 577 it's just your MDN username and has nothing to do with your service or anything. Your number is controlled by the messaging app, I would suggest reinstalling it if you're not able to receive calls.

    Well more to the point, perhaps, is that the phone can make outgoing calls which register with the correct FP number, but when that number is called, the phone doesn't ring or detect the call. Which app would I reinstall? The whole reason I bought this phone direct from FP is that when I tried using the FP app on a phone I had (supported model) it didn't function well.

    @Don White This shouldn't be a problem if this is on an android support device you should have a setting that allows you to have the Freedompop app set as the default messaging and phone app.
