Nexus 5 and the new Google Android monthly security update

AndyAAndyA Posts: 17FreedomPop Newbie
With the recent discovery of Stagefright vulnerability and Google response to promise monthly security update, does anyone know if the standard Android 5.1 installed on Nexus 5 will be ready to accept update? Is ROM from FreedomPop pretty much locked up?

Unfortunately the way that FreedomPop handled the modifications to the stock rom of the nexus 5, the verification check will always fail. To get this to work you'll need to flash the stock rom of the nexus 5, and then update.

You will lose all data on the device by doing this. There are several guides online to doing this procedure I suggest going to xda developers and reading up on that. Be sure you read the guide VERY carefully as you run the risk of bricking your device. I cannot stress that enough. I hope this helps
Want a free lte sim? Message me and ill give you a credit card to purchase it!

Common issues related to FreedomPop Devices:

If you are having trouble with the FreedomPop messaging app registering, always try uninstalling it and then reinstalling it. If that doesn't work download push notification fixer (no root) from the play store. make sure both intervals are set to 5 minutes and click apply.

    I don't work for FreedomPop

Have you done this without side effect on a FreedomPop Nexus 5 phone? Can you recommend a procedure to include special handling for FreedomPop apps? Thanks.
