Is there a $19 , $29 , $39 , $49 deal for Kyocera Hydro Icon?

Prem Krish ChettriPrem Krish Chettri Posts: 15FreedomPop Newbie
Someone said that he just ordered a FreedomPop Kyocera Hydro Icon for $39.99 with a free month of service.
His receipt proof is http://i.imgur.com/ZWUzb2Y.png, and the deal link is https://www.freedompop.com/offer/onsitebannerkyocerahydropromo39/checkout.

My order is $49.99 one with the same device.
My receipt is http://www.shareimages.com/image.php?81287-pJygl5WgmpylmKeSmqM-freedompop_page_001.jpg
and the deal link is https://www.freedompop.com/offer/kyocerahydropromo/checkout

Did I pay for a more expensive deal, and receive the plan and device even before I started using it?

Did I get ripped off?

Does FreedomPop do price match?

Thanks.

The $19.99 offer doesn't come with a free trial of the data plan, so it is a total of $39.98.

This phone is worth the $50 you paid for it. The $29 offer is expired

This is the $39 offer but it doesn't include the charger.

And FreedomPop doesn't price match but if your device hasn't shipped then all you need to do is call into customer service and cancel your order and then sign up again.

If you are having trouble with the FreedomPop messaging app registering, always try uninstalling it and then reinstalling it. If that doesn't work download push notification fixer (no root) from the play store. make sure both intervals are set to 5 minutes and click apply.

Wow, I am shocked, I thought freedompop deals are universal. I am ripped off. Should have made aware of this all.

Anyways, my phone is shipped, is there anything we can do over it ? I am okie with $39 deal, I don't need charger or whatever free trial etc.

@Prem Krish Chettri i don't know if you'll be able to get anywhere with customer service, but it would be worth a try. if you don't get the $10 back, i've had this phone a couple of weeks now & i absolutely love it. i hope you can get the issue resolved, but i think you will be very happy with this phone even if you don't.

Why the bottom of the page it says include a charger?

@Thanh Ly I was referring to the inclusion of the car charger, of course the phone is going to come with a wall charger.

So I finally Called them and was turned down by some smart ass operator. According to them, they can have as many number of plans as possible with any prices and its customer's responsibility to check what is right for them. They call this as promotional plans and they run like a campaign to increase the sales.

Although the operator failed to convince me, but was smartly turn down my request saying that the cost I paid is the cost without any promotional plan and they can't do anything on this.

Its weird but thats what it is guys!!!

Same thing happened to me with the Hydro. I paid $49, then started seeing the $29 and $39 deals. The $29 didn't include the free 1 GB of data, but the $39 seemed like the same deal as the $49. Anyway, I ended up sending the phone back due to it not being able to be a hotspot. Now I'm waiting on my Samsung Victory to show up. I paid $39 for it, and now on Facebook I'm seeing the exact same deal for $29. I'm almost hoping the Vic doesn't work out either so I can send it back. Apparently it isn't as fast, and the screen is not as big as the hydro, and it for sure isn't water resistant. I also hope that when the Vic gets here it does better as far as voice quality when talking on Wifi or VOIP over 3G/4G.

You also want to watch the wording of the 'deals' as well... I've noticed with most of the sub $50 deals that the devices are noted as being "B-Stock" which means that they are Certified Pre Owned devices with significant cosmetic blemishes. Some of the ones I've run across included cracked cases or battery covers, scratched screens or sticky buttons. The phones still work just fine, but they have some issues. See the image below to the link you posted for the $39 deal that shows it is a B-Stock device - I circled it in yellow...

Normally when you sign up from a direct link, you get a standard CPO device which will be pre-owned, but not have any noticeable damage. You probably want to order a new battery for it, but that's about the only thing you'll need to upgrade on it.

Come on man, they're giving you service a a tenth of the price of other carriers. They've gotta make money somewhere.

Actually most of their devices sell at differing prices under different offers all the time.

But you can return it and cancel the sale if within the applicable period specified on your offer.

Well I am not a fellow who keeps shopping around. So what I got is what it is (until I got some serious issue), but it is kinda unfair i believe to new people who just wanna see how things are different here !!!

I made this purchase at the end of July, and the offer was not available on the website. Rather, I got the offer after purchasing a Freedom Stick for $1.00 (shipped)- during check out I was asked if I wanted an Icon for $30 shipped. Nowhere did they mention that the phone was certified used, but the phone I received was indistinguishable from new.

I just called FP today and got the Kyocera Hydro Icon for $49.99. Then a couple hours later I get an email with an offer to get the same phone for $39.99. So I called customer service and was told that the $39.99 phone is identical to the $49.99 phone. However, the $39.99 phone is on backorder and would take close to a month to receive whereas the $49.99 phone should be delivered in 5 business days ... at least that was what I was told.

Here are the links for the $39.99 and $49.99 offers. The only difference I see is that the $49.99 offer includes a travel car charger ...
