Can I port my existing number over after I've signed up with FP?

I'm interested in trying out FP. Is it possible to sign up for FP, try it out, and if I decide to stick with it, then port my number over? Ie. is it possible to port my number over to FP after I've signed up and started using the service with a FP assigned number.

The answer is yes, here is an excellent option:

When you sign up for an account just let FreedomPop assign you a number.

Once you've done that go to google.com/voice and sign up for Google voice.

Port you number over to Google voice it costs $20 one time to port to google voice, then all you'd have to do is add the FreedomPop number as a forwarding number for google voice.
This way if you don't like FreedomPop you don't have to deal with porting it out

After you have done those steps do this:
Google voice also provides free voicemail as FreedomPop doesn't to disable the FreedomPop voicemail service do this:

    1. Select "My Account"
    2. Select "Account Settings"
    3. Scroll down to "Voicemail Preferences" and click "Edit"
    4. Uncheck "Enable voicemail and free 30-day voicemail storage"
    5. Click "Save"

If you don't disable the voicemail service on FreedomPop's end then all of your voicemails will be intercepted by FreedomPop and you will have to pay to access them.

Now if picture messaging and group messaging is something you desire then here is what you need to do:

Download hangouts and use the integration function and it will give you access to mms messaging. Once this is done all text messages will be accessible only in hangouts.
Want a free lte sim? Message me and ill give you a credit card to purchase it!

If you are having trouble with the FreedomPop messaging app registering, always try uninstalling it and then reinstalling it. If that doesn't work download push notification fixer (no root) from the play store. make sure both intervals are set to 5 minutes and click apply.

    I don't work for FreedomPop

@Tim415 If you like your FreedomPop service after a month, you're definitely able to port in then too! Whenever you want to you can go to My Account » Phone number and then you can enter your number to port in. You can wait as long as you need to port in and I honestly like this method much better than the Google Voice one since you're able to use Premium Voice with FreedomPop in your current number.
