**UPDATE** - WiMAX has been shut down.Sprint is in the process of implementing major improvements to the Sprint 4G LTE network. As part of this process, Sprint will cease operating the Sprint 4G (WiMAX) network on November 6, 2015.
What this means to you
Sprint will no longer support Sprint 4G WiMAX devices and services. Your WiMAX devices will no longer connect to a wireless network and the terms and provisions of your contract related solely to 4G WiMAX devices, products and services will no longer be applicable. You will not be allowed to return devices.
Provided below are list of 4G WiMAX devices that will cease to operate:
Freedom Spot Photon
Freedom Spot Photon Platinum Edition
Freedom Stick Bolt
Freedom Hub Burst
Freedom Hub Burst Black Edition
If you have one of the following devices that operate on the 4G WiMAX/3G network; they will cease to operate on the 4G network. As a result you will receive 3G service only:
Freedom Spot MiFi 4082
Freedom Spot Overdrive
Freedom Spot Overdrive Pro
Freedom Stick 250U
Freedom Stick u600/u602
Freedom Stick u301
HTC EVO 4G
HTC EVO Design
Samsung Galaxy SII Epic 4G Touch
If you have one of the above Wi-Fi Hotspots or USB Wireless Adaptor that support 3G service only after; November 6th, you will no longer have the option to remain on a free plan. If you have a mobile phone, you will receive 3G only for free.
Please be advised that all devices listed were sold by FreedomPop. If you have a WiMAX supported phone through our BYOD program, that feature will no longer be available.
To continue to meet your wireless data needs, we have a selection of comparable devices using 4G LTE technologies which are not impacted by the shutdown of Sprint 4G (WiMAX) network. We understand your concern and appreciate your patience during this unfortunate situation.
