Here is something I threw together to help the Freedompop Netgear Mingle User. It has everything you need to access and change all Password and SSID's. If you have any questions, Please post them below.


The screen might look like you are logging into Virgin Mobile. Please this is just the UI and will not log you into a new Virgin Mobile account.Virgin Mobile and Freedompop both use Sprint's Network. The Mingles were originally issued to only Virgin Mobile. Even when you go to the Netgear website, it shows a VM device in all picture. Some of the settings mention VM also. Freedompop Buy Devices in Bulk from Sprint to refurbish on the Freedompop Network. This is how Freedompop was able to get their hands on these and resale at a very reasonable rate.


Passwords for the Mingle are>>>

To connect to your device's Wi-Fi "Main" (default password is "freedompop") all lowercase, no quotations

To connect to your device's Wi-Fi "guest" (default password is "password") all lowercase, no quotations.

To connect to your administrative settings will either be ("admin" or "password") all lowercase, no quotations.


Logging In as an Administrator>>>

Logging in to the home page allows you to view more detailed information about your device, and to manage its settings, broadband network connection, and Wi-Fi networks.

Note: To log in to the home page, your computer must be tethered to your device, or connected to your device’s Main Wi-Fi network. You cannot log in over the Guest Wi-Fi network.

Note: If you don’t log in, you can only view the current network connection status and a list of devices connected to the Main and Guest Wi-Fi networks.

Note: To be able to make changes to your device’s settings, you must be connected to your device via the Main Wi-Fi network, or via a tethered connection.

To log in:

1.) In the address bar of your Web browser, type one of the following:

§ http://minglehotspot or http://minglehotspot

§ http://192.168.1.1

2.) In the Sign In field, enter the Mingle Manager administrator password (1–31 letters, numbers, and symbols). Connect to your administrative settings will either be ("admin" or "password") all lowercase, no quotations. It’s recommended you change the password, if you haven’t already.

3.) Click Sign In.
After a period of inactivity, you will be automatically logged off (timeout security feature).

4.) Click Settings > General > Device.

5.) Click Show Password.

6.) In the Mingle Manager Password field, type the new password (1–31 letters, numbers, and symbols).

7.) Click Submit.

To change the Network Name and Password>>>

1.) Make sure your Logged In as an Administrator

2.) Click Wi-Fi > Options.

3.) In the Main Wi-Fi and Guest Wi-Fi sections, change the Network Name and Password fields as desired. (The required lengths appear beneath the fields.)

4.) If you want to have your device automatically change the Guest Wi-Fi password each time Guest Wi-Fi is turned on, select Generate a new password each time I turn on the Guest Wi-Fi.

5.) Click Submit.

6.) When prompted, click Submit again. (All devices that were connected will have to reconnect with the new settings.)

To update the profile and PRL on the Netgear Mingle>>

1) Open an internet browser and enter 192.168.1.1 or minglehotspot in the address bar and press Enter.

Note: The computer must be connected to the device's Main Wi-Fi network or Tethered(USB to PC).

2) Enter the administrator password in the Sign In field and click Sign In.

Note: The default administrator password is password

3) Click Settings.

4) Click the Network tab.

5) Click the Update PRL

Note: The device might restart and you will need to start back at Step 1) to do the Profile update.

6) Click the Update Profile




Mobile Broadband Disconnect Error

Cannot Connect to the Mobile Broadband Network or Mobile Broadband Disconnect error.

If this message is displayed, go through the following steps.

● Make sure your computer is connected to your device (through the micro USB cable or
Wi-Fi). (See How Do I Connect to Wi-Fi? or Making a Tethered Connection.)

● Make sure you’re in a network coverage area.

● Check the Network Mode setting (See Setting the Allowed Network Mode). For example, if it’s set to LTE Only, you won’t be able to connect if you don’t have LTE coverage.

● Try the tips in Improving Signal Strength.

● Check with Freedompop — a network or account problem may be preventing your device from obtaining service. Check status here

● Visit your Freedompop Account online and make sure you have more than 100mbs left on your account. Make sure there are no discrepancy's>(Device and name missing, Device's Mac ID missing on the Device's Page and No Red Bar Across the top of the account.)<

A Profile and PRL update, helps with the 4G LTE and 3g CDMA signal. The PRL help get a Stronger 3G Signal. The profile update will help you connect to the nearest Sprint/Freedompop Tower more efficiently.
