Changing to a new BYOD device?

My wife is on the unlimited talk/text plan and has a Samsung Galaxy S2. She has been having trouble with the phone, running slow, apps not working correctly, etc.

She's really frustrated with it. So I am thinking about getting her a new phone, probably a compatible (Sprint) Galaxy S3.

Once we get it, how would we activate the new phone and replace the Galaxy S2 currently connected with her account?

    @Matthew Woyak Once you get it, please activate over at http://www.freedompop.com/activate. Then after activating, post here again confirming you've done so and an admin will get back to you.

    @Ali So I would use the http://www.freedompop.com/activate link even though it is for "freedompop devices"? I'm going to buy a refurbished phone that works on the sprint network, but it isn't a "freedompop device" (that is, I won't be buying it from freedom pop). But this activation webpage should still work for it? Even if we activate it with the email address she's already using for the device she currently has on her freedom pop account?

    @Ali to clarify, we don't want to activate a new phone number or create a new account, we just want to change the device and keep everything else associated with her current account the same.
