"registering for push notifications"

it keeps getting stuck on this part of the messaging setup.
not sure what to do

    Same here, "registering for push notifications", plus no phone number with my phone in my Freedompop account.

    I run into the same issue initially. The problem is resolved on my device after turning off Wifi and make a phone call. Hope it helps!

    After the phone is restarted the same problem occurred. After reading some threads I initiated a carrier reset following the instruction here:

    It seems to fix the problem this time. The problem is gone after restarting the phone as well. I hope this really fixed the problem.

    I finally was able to use the phone app and called the number to do a soft reset. After that I had to resync the messenger app, then the push for notifications disappeared and the check mark appeared.
