Freedompop U600/601




The U600/601 will only work with a 3G Plan. Please go online and make sure you have a plan that says 3g in the description. The U600/601, will not work on the Free Plan. It uses older 4g Wimax(no longer available), and Freedompop Free Plan is for 4G LTE only. Freedompop uses Sprint for all of its 4G LTE and 3G CDMA data needs. On November 6th Sprint closed all Communications with 4G Wimax. 4G Wimax signals are no longer broadcasted. Log onto your FreedomPop account and click this link>>

If your having connection issues, Please go online and make sure you have more than 100mbs left on the account. Freedompop/Sprint likes to suspend the data when it gets close to the 100mbs data cap, because of Sprint's 3 hour delay. Please verify you have more than 100mbs. If you do, please try the next step.

Try to update the Profile. The Profile update will help you connect to a local Sprint tower more efficiently. Freedompop uses Sprint for all of its 4G and 3G Data needs

Here is how to update to the Profile-

Note: Make sure you are connect to the USB Only, no other Internet devices or Modems, just the hotspot.

Note:
To perform the update, you must have Sprint SmartView open and your U600/601 USB Modem inserted in the computer in a Ready to Connect state, but do not connect to the Sprint network.

To update the data file in Sprint SmartView:


1. Go to the Sprint SmartView menu

2. Click Tools > Update Data Profile (IOTA)
If the above option is grayed out:

1. In Sprint SmartView, click Tools > Settings > Hardware tab

2. Click Modify button next to the device name

3. Click Update Profile button

Once updated, you should have connection again. This will get the U600/601 back on track to receive a signal, to broadcast Wi-Fi to the device you want to use.
