Downgraded to Free Plan and being billed

Hi,

Can anyone advise of why I am being billed when I have downgraded account to Basic 200 (which should be free, unless I am mistaken). Is there something in the small print that I have not read?

    I had this happen to me when I first started with FreedomPop. Then I found out that FreedomPop not only has Data Plans, they also have Value added services. It is possible that you have a Value added service enabled still. A great way to see where the charge came from. Open up your account online and click this link>>

    Or Open your FreedomPop account. On the Tabs at the top you will see “HOME--MY ACCOUNT--BILLING--EARN FREE--SHARE DATA--SUPPORT" Click "BILLING", and you will see a drop down Menu. Click “BILLING OVERVIEW".

    This takes you to the Billing Overview page and if you look at the box that says" Recent Transactions". It should show you if this was a Value added service. I also created a post to downgrade to the 100% Free Plan; this is the Value added service part of that post. This should help you downgrade if you find you have one>>

    Or Open your FreedomPop account. On the Tabs at the top you will see “HOME--MY ACCOUNT--BILLING--EARN FREE--SHARE DATA--SUPPORT" Click "MY ACCOUNT", and you will see a drop down Menu. Click "SERVICES".

    This will have the service plans, which sometimes get missed when anybody downgrades to Free. The Top boxes will be the service plans you are subscribed to. Start with the top box and work your way down (depending on how many service plans you have). Over to the right of each service plan is the words with an arrow "View Details->". Click view details and it takes you to a new page. On this page, under the box with the Service plan details are the words "To deactivate this service, click here". Click the link A pop up will show, click>> (Click here to confirm cancellation of your service). You will get another confirmation after it is complete.

    This is something Customer Support gave to the Experts yesterday to help other members downgrade service plans. Great little tutorial.

    I tried to make sure I included all details when downgrading, even the instructions on how to turn off Auto Top-Up. Please let me know if you have any issues downgrading this Service plan. I have also included a way to verfy you are on the Free Plan.

    Please let me know if you do not have any VAS plans activated.

    Same thing happened to me. I unchecked all the boxes, made sure to deactivate any extras, even shows the $0.00 billing. And yet somehow they reactivated it.

    what does it say when you look at the service plans? or when you verify downgrade using the instructions in the link? You might have a service plan enabled.

    I downgraded to the Free plan and services today and the monthly billing hasn't shown yet today, but when it does show later today, I will want a refund. I tried to submit a question to Support, but I got "Sorry, there was an error with your submission." This happened six times, and of course there was no explanation of the "error." Later I noticed that I did get an email notification for each of the submissions, but none of them show up in My Support Questions, so it's questionable whether one of them will ever be resolved. I can't call for support, and now even the Web Support is apparently not working, so this Forum is my only hope to get a FreedomPop employee to give me my refund.
