Charge of 7.99 after cancelling

Why I've been charged $7.99 even after downgrading to free account? I was offered two connections, and both of them are downgraded to free account.

    I had this happen to me when I first started with FreedomPop. Then I found out that FreedomPop not only has Data Plans, they also have Value added services. It is possible that you have a Value added service enabled still. A great way to see where the charge came from. Open up your account online and click this link>>


    This takes you to the Billing Overview page and if you look at the box that says" Recent Transactions". It should show you if this was a Value added service. Njfulwider5 created a post to downgrade to the 100% Free Plan; this is the Value added service part of that post. This should help you downgrade if you find you have one>>

    This will have the service plans, which sometimes get missed when anybody downgrades to Free. The Top boxes will be the service plans you are subscribed to. Start with the top box and work your way down (depending on how many service plans you have). Over to the right of each service plan is the words with an arrow "View Details->". Click view details and it takes you to a new page. On this page, under the box with the Service plan details are the words "To deactivate this service, click here". Click the link A pop up will show, click>> (Click here to confirm cancellation of your service). You will get another confirmation after it is complete.

    Looks like Freedompop intentionally made it invisible while cancelling. In fact, I never opted for any value added service. As per the instruction, I can imagine why the link for cancellation made nano-size. I've cancelled those value added service. Not a good experience :-(
