New SIM, Motorola XT912, No Network

I got my SIM a few days ago. Calling while on Wifi works. Trying to use the carrier doesn't. It's just a red slash circle and says no service.

Someone elsewhere suggested my SIM card is not activated, as in FreedomPop sent me a blank card with no identification tied to it (a piece of plastic). Can I request a new SIM card?

    EDIT - Nevermind, I found out my SIM is actually blank!
