Moto E Gen2 (XT1526) - cannot activate

I bought 2 Moto 2 2nd Gen devices about 1.5 years ago. Tried to bring them to Freedompop. I was able to register both, and one activated without problem, while the other one fails to activate - the profile update fails upon activation with:
Profile update failed.

    @Michael Gschwind I'm simply going to blindly recite info I've read about that error code (I have no experience with CDMA activation). Over wifi, try to PRL update, if that fails, try a few more times before giving up. That has solved it for some if I recall correctly. Good luck.
