How to uninstall the Freedompop dialer on released ZTEN9100

djpopdjpop FreedomPop Newbie Posts: 5
I have a phone I purchased through Freedompop several years ago. It just cancelled the account and I want to go to Tello. It has been activated through Tello but I cannot make calls as it keeps saying I have to activate the phone to Freedompop. I have been told it is because the Freedompop dialer is trying to dial when I try to make a call. Please help me disable this dialer.
Thanks

Hello djpop! According to our records, this is a CDMA locked to Sprint device you bought with us. We can go ahead and request to release from our database to Sprint but if we do, it can only be used with VOIP companies that use them as the main carrier like we do, within the US. We do not have the availability to unlock it for GSM use to use outside the US, we do apologize.

Also, you need to uninstall the FreedomPop app from the device to disable our dialer. You can also perform a factory reset on the device. Please make sure to back it up prior to performing the factory reset as it will delete everything that has been stored on the device up until now.

In this case, we can release the device from our network if the following requirements are met:

    - At least six (6) months have passed since the device was registered with FreedomPop.
    - Your device hasn't been reported as lost or stolen.
    - Your device isn't associated with a fraudulent account.
    - Your device hasn't been included in a financial dispute.

If you meet these requirements and would like to release your device, please contact us back to look into your request.

    Hi Maria,

My device was bought 2015 from your company, so it meet all the requirements. Please release my device. And let me know how to uninstall the freedomPop app from the phone? Because the FreedomPop App was pre-install on the phone. I already tried to factory reset. But the FreedomPop app still at phone. Thanks for your help.

    @djpop,
Open the Phone's settings. Scroll down to Apps or Manage Apps.
Open it and scroll down until you see the Messaging App.
    Open that.
    Search for uninstall.
Do it. Wait a bit for it to finish.
If it seems to have uninstalled, power OFF the phone.
    Wait a minute or more.
    Power on your phone.
    Now try it.

Thanks for your response. It's sad to see you go but we respect your decision. We have requested to release the device to Sprint from our database. Please allow from 24-72 hours to try to activate it with another provider.
