Account inactive period

1. Can someone please specify clearly what minimum activity does it take to keep a GSM based SIM card account being used on a non-freedompop phone active? And once it becomes inactive, how long before you lose the number altogether? Do you also lose the account and have to reactivate the SIM or buy a new SIM?

2. Same questions for Sprint based hotspots bought from freedompop. What minimum activity it takes to keep it active? And once it becomes inactive, how long before you lose the account altogether? Does one have to reactivate the hotspot account then or buy a new one?

@yoprabhat - I can only go with my experiences. I have heard 2 min, also heard 5 min. For hot spots there is no talking so it must be 5 MB. You cannot go wrong with 5 & 5 both with SIMs and with Sprint devices.
30 days of no activity gets to go to 'sleep'. If it sleeps for 30 more days then the number disappears. It just keeps being dormant until you wake it up. I actually get the feeling from notations here that the billing continues all during the sleeping / dormancy periods. If you have a billed plan. Really if you are going to have more than 29 days of non use, you shouldn't be paying for a higher cost plan when it is so underused.
You just log into your online account and immediately a pop up comes alerting you to the dormancy and asks If you want to wake it up right now ? Say yes. Then power down the device and then power it back up. On phones open the app and tap the Sync account button to resync the accounts in your phone and on the server. Hot spot should be fine as it is.
