how to un-root a FP S3

I purchased a Freedom Pop Galaxy S3 direct from FP. Apps used for my work connectivity are reporting that the phone is rooted and needs to be un-rooted to meet security policies. Is there a way to have the FP phone appear un-rooted?

@Doug Erickson‌ FreedomPop Phones are not rooted and only appear that way because a custom recovery and ROM flavor is installed. You may want to try this tho - http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/trick-apps-android-rooted/

To add... if you have SuperSU then your phone is rooted and you're going to need to factory reset to remove the root.

sometimes...In the past the root has not affect anything..But it did allow you to download apps you couldn't when it was un-rooted...a rooted freedompop Phone is a Bonus!!!! :D

@Doug Erickson‌ Removing Root access might not help you. Once the KNOX warranty bit is tripped, many Networks will flag the phone as not-secure. The installing of a Custom Recovery (like the one on the FP S3) trips this switch and it can't be undone.

here is the stuff i found--figured i drop here...

there are a few review on the Youtube, that show the device out of the box with Super User....

I am not sure if it just happen to be rooted before freedompop purchased it and than placed there rom on it...But it has happened...

here is a old post where i chatted with a guy that found out his phone was rooted from the get go

    https://forums.freedompop.com/discussion/comment/19112/#Comment_19112

check out this review on the htc

around 8 mins it talks about super user

I just wanted to show it can be used together....(now lately I have not found anybody with super user)....I think Freedompop might have decided to take it off before the place there rom back on..

to-bad non of my phone have it....

The Knox feature was introduced with Android 4.3.
What version of the OS is installed?

    Thanks for all the replies.

I tried the root cloak but it did not help.
There is no super-user in my applications.
I fear it is going to be the Knox feature that does me in.
    My OS is 4.4.2

I will work with our IT department to see if there is a workaround.

The most direct path to unrooting the phone will require some elbow grease to complete. I am talking about restoring the phone to stock rom and reflashing it with Odin. To download the original stock sprint 4.4.2 rom for the Galaxy S3 go here: http://adf.ly/wXtvX Next you will have to download Odin the software used to flash the phones rom here: http://adf.ly/wXuG2 and finally you will need Windows Drivers so that your computer can communicate with your phone in download mode. They are here: http://adf.ly/wXuSd
Very simply you must put your phone into download mode by turning it off then hold the Volume Down+Home buttons while turning it on. If successful it will give you a warning screen and after pressing volume up your phone is in download mode.

Extract and install the drivers and Odin software to the computer. After putting your phone in download mode connect it to the computer. Run Odin. Select the PDA button and add your rom file there. Ensure that you uncheck Re-Partition! Ensure you have at least 50% battery life on your phone and press start. This process should take around 10 min. After it is finished let your phone reboot and you should be unrooted with default stock rom.

    Links:
    Odin: http://adf.ly/wXuG2
    Drivers: http://adf.ly/wXuSd
    Stock 4.4.2 Sprint Rom: http://adf.ly/wXtvX

Remember that this is a serious thing to do to your phone and it has the potential of bricking your hardware if something unforseen like a power outage happens. Make sure you back everything up first.

Good luck and let me know how it goes!
